Staffed (Supervised) Ranges
When at a shooting range that is supervised, everyone must follow the rules at that facility for everyone’s safety. Find the posted rules of the range. Make sure you have read the rules of the range and understand them, and ask questions if not clear. Watch range safety video, if applicable. Pay close attention to other people on the range watch for any one not paying attention. Be respectful of others at the range by following the rules and instructions. Supervised ranges usually require the shooter to sign-in. Your firearm should be in a gun case and unloaded. The Range Safety Officer (RSO) will inform you of the range rules and any restrictions. Be open to instruction and advice from the RSO. Restrictions could be concerning the types of firearms or ammunition that are allowed. You should monitor your fellow shooters to ensure they have adequate time to don their safety gear even if the range has been declared hot. It’s a good idea to communicate to your lane neighbors when you decide to leave the range or change your firearm.
