Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning your firearm provided in your instruction manual. This content is a general guideline for this style of firearm.

Now, you may be wondering, how often should I clean my shotgun? And it's a great question, but there's a lot of different variables to get to the right answer.
Some of those variables are things like weather, humidity, dust, the temperature, if it's rainy or snowy. It also depends on how often you're shooting or how many rounds you're putting through the firearm itself. At the end of the day, always make sure you check with the manufacturer's recommendations.
Now, before we get started, we need to make sure that our firearm is clear and safe. It's very simple with the 555. We're going to check both barrels here, both visually and physically, because it's just habit.
Guys, this is the most important step. Make sure you don't skip it.
Now that this is clear, let's go ahead and break it down and get it clean.
Speaker places the shotgun on a desk for cleaning.
We will first remove the forearm by pulling the lever on the bottom down. Now, we're going to break the action, and the barrel's going to come right off. It really is that easy.
Now, for this, we're going to be using a bore snake. These are great to keep with you out in the field. And in fact, you don't even have to break down the gun to do a quick clean right after shooting with this bore snake. We're going to add some CLP to the snake and run it through from breech to muzzle. We're going to do this several times until each barrel is clean. We're going to be able to visually inspect that.
We will then use the CLP and some patches and wipe down all the exterior of the barrel, the receiver, and the stock.
We're then going to reassemble the firearm by reversing the steps from earlier and give it one final wipe down.
Alright guys, we've got the 555 put back together. Now we're going to go ahead and do a quick functions test, making sure it operates as it should. As always, point it in a safe direction.
We're going to break the action, close it back. And we're going to pull twice—one trigger pull, the second trigger pull—great.
Now, we're going to check the safety—again, breaking the action—good. It does exactly what it's supposed to do.
Now, it's time to put this back in a safe location per the manufacturer's recommendations.
