If you are thinking about getting a concealed carry permit, as you look for a holster, there are basically two styles: inside-the-waistband (IWB) and outside-the-waistband (OWB).

Shoulder holsters, pocket holsters, and packs are also an option; but they are a much less safe option because they can be awkward to draw, which makes handling your firearm safely more difficult.

  • Inside-the-waistband (IWB) holsters allow you to better conceal the overall shape of your firearm, but are less comfortable.
  • Outside-the-waistband (OWB) holsters are easier to wear.

No matter your choice IWB or OWB, you need to be sure that you practice drawing and re-holstering on a regular basis to be proficient with your firearm. We strongly recommend going to the range and practicing on a regular basis if you plan to conceal carry.

We also strongly recommend that you don't consider conceal carry without taking advanced handgun-shooting techniques from a qualified instructor.
