Transcript for Stance

22Plinkster, CCI® Ambassador and Precision Shooter: Hello. My name is 22Plinkster. Today, we're going to be talking about your stance.

One thing that is commonly overlooked when you're trying to do precision shooting is your stance. I'm not going to sit here and tell you that one stance is better than another stance. You pretty much have the Weaver and also the Isosceles. Depending on which handgun I'm shooting will determine which stance I choose.

When shooting the Weaver stance, since I am right-handed, my left foot will be in front of me.

My right foot will be directly behind me, and I will be putting the majority of my weight on my left leg. My right arm is about 98% extended. I prefer this stance when I'm doing precision shooting with an open-sighted pistol.

However, when I shoot a pistol that has a red dot, I prefer to use an Isosceles-style stance.

My stance is shoulder-width apart. I'm slightly leaning forward. The most important thing is that you're comfortable. If you're not comfortable, more than likely, you're going to pull that shot left or right, up or down. Practice that stance each and every time, and it will make you a better shooter.
